Pain Management
My first treatment with Derek came in the most unlikely of places, a little pink tent! My best friend & I walked the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Walk and when he heard that we were doing it, he advised us that nightly treatments would keep us comfortable to enjoy our daily 20 mile jaunts. Each night, he came down to the Bay to give us acupuncture treatments. Aside from a blister or two, we had a pain-free experience on the walk!

Knee Pain|Sports Injury
After a soccer injury, I experienced extreme knee pain. I was hesitant to try acupuncture and was a worried about being needled. Derek reassured me that I was going to feel little to no pain. Since nothing else had worked, I decided to try it. He was able to fix me right up with only that one visit and I learned about all the different ailments that acupuncture can help with. I have since referred friends and co-workers to him. Now I skip the doctor’s office and go instead to see Derek.

Bladder Issues
For 10 years I've suffered with a nagging pain that often was a 9 on a scale of 1-10. Additionally, I had all the symptoms of a severe bladder infection. When I first went to Derek for treatment, I had no diagnosis and my PCP had attempted numerous times to treat me with antibiotics, only to find out that the culture was negative.
Derek immediately began to treat me for "heat" in that area as well as several points to alleviate the horrific pain. After the first treatment I noticed that the bladder pressure subsided. After 3 treatments, both pain & pressure were totally gone. I continued treatments every other week for a couple months and stayed symptom-free.
Eventually, my PCP diagnosed me with Interstitial Cystitis and prescribed bladder installations once a week. Unfortunately, they only relieved my pain for for a few days and didn't give the relief I got with acupuncture. Derek was always so gentle and knowledgeable with treatments. I look forward to my bi-weekly visits with him to maintain my quality of life.

Back Pain
Non-Believer turns into a Believer! I came to see Derek Durfee for lower back pain. I had been seeing my M.D. for cortisone shots and a chiropractor for some time, but none of it ever seemed to be enough to eliminate the pain. My M.D. had taken x-rays of my back, diagnosing me with a bulging disc. He suggested I have back surgery.
I was in the middle of moving and did excessive lifting. During and after the move, I was treated by Derek & couldn't believe the results! I now keep up the maintenance of seeing him when my back is acting up and I'm much better. I've stopped going to my chiropractor and never had surgery.
Derek’s knowledge of getting the right results with the right treatment is very impressive. He takes a great amount of time to understand what you are struggling with. I refer my friends to his clinic and they've had excellent results.

Allergies
If you’ve never had an acupuncture treatment then you’re missing out. I recently had an allergic reaction that made me break out in red itchy hives from my neck down to my knees. After the one treatment with Derek, I felt immediate relief and the hives were virtually gone.
